Testimonials
We received countless written testimonials from Kiara's friends and family, all of which are included in our biographical poetry collection, "dear Kiara".
Some also expressed their love for Kiara and her memory through works of art and acts of service. A selection of these pieces is found below, in hopes they will inspire you to take action in your communities to raise awareness on mental health and the devastating loss caused by suicide.

Kiara bridging to Cadette (Lima, Peru, June 8, 2019)
Girl Scouts in Ashburn, VA learn about mental health and discuss emotions.
We want to thank our dear friend, Alex Recalde de Yarbrough, who honored Kiara’s memory and raised mental health awareness by spearheading a remarkable initiative. Alex put together a valuable resource package containing adult training materials and engaging activities for girls to work on emotion recognition.
She presented this package to Service Unit Managers, Council people, association Chairs and Troop Leaders. The Junior Girl Scouts who participated in open conversations about emotions and mental well-being were rewarded with a special patch named “For the Love of Kiara”, designed by Alex.
